I need a research topic pertaining to endangered species?
What about the effects of global warming and how it can make a species endangered?
Reply:Seriously, write about Sharks.

People may not know it, but many Sharks are an endangered species. They are often killed by shark nets that are suppossed to divide swimmers and sharks. They are also hunted by man out of fear, when the reality is that you have a better chance of being hit by lightning than being bit by a shark.
Reply:you should really consider the chimpanzee its very endangered and we need save the worlds smartest creature.
Reply:Indiana Bat - Myotis sodalis -

Maybe you could contact your local cavers Grotto and see first hand there habitat A cave at least

Wingspan 24-28cm, forearm 35-41 mm, weight 6-9g.

Flattened pink noise. Dark gray or brown fur with a soft, dull, frizzy quality; Belly fur lighter then back fur. Indiana's have a small keel on the edge of the membrane next to the ankle.

They hibernate in clusters of 300-400 per square foot. In cold air trap caves. That should be a good start.

Reply:I will have to say my favorite, Whooping Cranes. There are only a little over 500 alive anywhere in the world. They went down to approx 17 birds TOTAL in the world back in the 1930's and all birds today are related to those 17. They are what you call a bottleneck species. Scientists have to be very careful with interbreeding them and getting the most genetic diversity they can.

Also, they are one of the best re-introduction efforts yet attempted. There is a human created non-migratory flock in Fla. A human created migratory flock (operation migration) and a rather large captive breeding population that feeds the two human created populations.

Information can be obtained from www.savingcranes.org and www.operationmigration.org
