All right, I must admit you have made your point very clear!

You need to think about something that you are passionate about...something that you feel so strongly about that you will not waiver, or something that interests you so much that you want to learn all you can about it.

Once you do that, put your whole heart into the topic and state your feelings, passion, etc.

It is funny how someone who is a killer can be so smart...it doesnlt make sense and it is the one main reason why FBI hate serials.

How can i find a psychology research paper topic?

I just need some topics and some information or a website that would help me with finding more info on a certain topic

How can i find a psychology research paper topic?
What do you want to study? What interests you about, the way people think and act based on thought processes. Or what type of disease process are you interested in related to the brain? After you decode on wht interests you, then research it. Start by using libraries and web browsers to lookup the topic you have choosen. Is this college, grammar school or high school? I really cannot believe that you would not know how to pick a subject and how to research it...if you were seriously taking a psych class.

What about cave paintings, graffiti, petroglyphs, foreigh language bill boards? Point is that there is some message in each but also there is a world of anthropological information if we can understand it. What's more as we bring this understanding into the present and look for the changes in our language, we can see similar information about ourselves. Compare the Oxford English dictionary from1900 with 2000.

Alternately, the means by which we communicate have changed amazingly and easily speak to changes in our culture.
Reply:Here's a great place to start. Pick a subject that interestes you, then click deeper to find a wealth of books and articles that will provide you with excellent research material.
Reply:apart from what others have mentioned, how about trying someting on 'barriers in communication,' which would take into account various social, psychological and contextual factors responsible for hampering the intended interpretation of the message by the sender.

All the best.
Reply:Do one on on the topic of how people can still communicate with each other through the written word, even when their spelling and grammar are atrocious. Have the written report contain a myriad of spelling errors as a form of irony.
Reply:how about dabbling with sign language as a means of communication? learning the signs is not only interesting, going through the actual sign language is exciting. the more it becomes totally engrossing when you write about the whole process of engaging each other through signs - deciphering the gestures and answering with equivalent signals.
Reply:first you need to learn how to use

spell check on your computer or at least learn how to spell the word..... Communications (mine) commnictaions (yours),

or take a typing course. Sorry, but that is what I read into your question.
Reply:The two responses I saw both sounded good. I have another.

You can trace the modes of communication for travelers, RVers in their RV's as they travel the US and Canada. How do they communicate with family, friends %26amp; businesses they deal with? Boaters who live aboard and cruise U.S., Canadian and Mexican coastal waters.... how do they communicate with family, friends %26amp; businesses.

Communication is vital... to receiving communications from businesses so you can pay your bills... and with family %26amp; friends to tell them of your adventures %26amp; let them know you are still alive and well and safe. It's challenging!

I need to formulate a research question from the topic job satisfaction and personal happiness?

I need to formulate a research question from the topic job satisfaction and personal happiness?
Talk about Maslow's Heiarchy of needs. (you know, the base being air and things you must have to be alive progressing to the point where after all the other needs are meet you are so comfortable that you have the ability to strive for your goals and serve others.)

Basically what your question is asking is really just explain Maslow's theory and how that can relate to job satisfaction and personal happiness. Because in order to have that satisfaction and happiness you need to understand all that goes into it, safety, health, acceptance, etc. It's a fastinating theory and you are bound to get interesting, deep, and thoughtful responses as opposed to a student just BS-ing their way through something. It requires brain power ;)

2%26gt;socialisation influences

4%26gt;the role of family

5%26gt;the role of class and status

thus far i have come up with the following topics: the impact of ethnicity on the values of teenager, teen pregnancy, the impact of punk music on identity development, and the impact of violent movies on teenagers.

Your off to a good start I Really like the punk music one. How about "Punk music culture as a replacement for the nuclear family in (where ever your from). then you can discuss how punk kids often rebel agaisnt thier parents and go and form "family" groups of their own. You can also discuss similarities and differences in the morality and goals of the groups compared to the traditional nuclear family.

Research paper topic on computer operating systems?

I'm writing an argumentative research paper for an english class and my teacher reccomended I pick a topic related to my major (Computer Information Systems). I'd like to write a paper on operating systems but I'm not sure where to go with it. I was thinking Windows vs. Mac or something like that but I really need a good thesis. Any suggestions?

Research paper topic on computer operating systems?
well, you might go back to the beginning, when i was in 7th grade the State of Texas put the first computers into classrooms....it was soooo very different....we were taught how to read and write dos code....they rarely teach that anymore...operating systems have almost completely consumed computer classes...you might want to show the differences between computer classes back in the 80's and now.....and how now you have to be quite the specialist to be able to read and write dos code....

What is the best research topic about piracy?

-to be used by a high school student

-should be simple but significant

What is the best research topic about piracy?
You should discuss why although some people do download movies and software illegally, why do so many more people download only music when movies are pretty much as readily accessible. As well what makes downloading music acceptable in most people's eyes today, yet if you asked them if they would download a movie they would consider that unethical and and stealing. Basically just expand on the differences between the two. Hope this helps.

What are some esay research topics??
The best way to come up with a topic is to think of something that you are interested in and would like to know more about. Begin asking questions. If you can come up with a good list of questions, then you have a starting place for researching your topic.

As a general rule avoid topics you've heard discussed a million times or ones that you have your mind completely set in one direction. If you think of research as exploring or finding out information, you will write a much more interesting paper.

I've had students write interesting papers on topics like these (Notice how each includes questions to explore):

Juveniles tried as adults . . .

Does trying a minor as an adult work? What happens when a minor is tried as an adult? How often does this happen? For what types of crimes? Is this better justice or less justice?

Preventing Teen Pregnancy . . .

What is being done to help prevent teen pregnancy? How effective are these measures? How much effort is put into targeting teen girls? teen boys? What is life like for a teen parent? Are there success stories--teen parents that make it work?

The foster care system . . .

What are the basic procedures for becoming a foster parent in my state? How many foster families are there? What are the benefits for being a foster parent? How are foster parents monitored and evaluated? What happens when a foster parent is abusive? Why are some foster children moved around a lot? What are some of the problems with our foster care system? What are some proposed solutions?

Start by thinking of what interests, concerns, or puzzles you. If you are interested in animals, for example, you could write about vets or the Humane Society or dog fights or elephants in zoos, etc. If you are interested in business, you can write about starting a business, selling a business, operating a business or giving up on a business. In any case, you will want to think about the size of your paper to determine how broad or how narrow your topic should be.

If your instructor give you specific guidelines, be sure to follow them, and ask questions if they seem unclear to you.
Reply:First of all are you willing to plan out the search or just copy paste. If you can plane use this topic. Mental health and the third brain. The lower brain was the first brain and still holds great power in man.
Reply:First of all, what do you like? Maybe you're a dancer. Research how some dancers are pressured to be pole-thin, and how some develop eating disorders. Do you like video games or movies? Research the effects of violence on little children, and the purpose for ratings. I personally had a TON of fun discovering information on whether Roosevelt knew that the attack upon Pearl Harbor would occur, and just didn't do anything. Maybe you really like language or math. Look up how either of them were developed. You can discover how explicit lyrics affect young listeners. If you really like different cultures, look how one particular culture would live an ordinary day, or some of their rules. A hot topic could be debating about what makes a law a right, and who gets to decide what makes a law fair. You could study the corruption of the legal system. A fairly easy topic would be whether or not the death sentence should be allowed. I doubt that a school would allow this topic, but you could also look at abortion. It really depends on what you like. Make it interesting, so that you will be interested to look up more information on whatever topic you choose. It will be MUCH more enjoyable to write if you write about something you're passionate about or interested in.
Reply:It depends what class you're in, but whatever it is, make sure it's something you are interested in. Think about shows you might have seen on the Discovery Channel or the History Channel, and if any of those topics caught your interest.
Reply:It might depend on what class you're in, well, and what country. If you were in the US, you could do a research project on the attack on Normandy and D-Day and all of that stuff.
Reply:oil- humans pump it out at least twice as fast as mutha nature makes it lol
Reply:Sonia, I think you would get better input from people here and could also channel your own thinking better if you would write a more specific question.

What type of a class are you writing the essay for?

Is your essay to be controversial, i.e. does it need to be argumentative and persuasive or just informative?

How long is your essay to be?

How many sources are you expected to use?

What subject or topics are YOU most interested in? Research is much more enjoyable if you find what you are reading stimulating or interesting?

Do you get the idea here? I used to tell my students, "Do not just tell me 'I need help. Be prepared to tell me how I can help you specifically.'" If you will use Answers this way too, people will be able to be of more serive to you.

I need a research topic for a college English class and my mind is blank?

I need a research topic for a college English class and my mind is blank?
What effect did Salinger's book "Catcher in the Rye" have on American pop culture? There is so much out there, I don't see how you could have a blank mind.
Reply:If it is an open subject, it is always good to go with your interests. You will always be able to draw from your own knowledge on the subject, and you will know where the best sources are. If that doesn't help you, I've always wanted to do a research paper on Celtic mythology. Your free to use that one if you like. Take care.
Reply:Do you have a general area you're working with in class? If not, professors are very impressed when you introduce a little of your own theory work with a piece of literature. Select a novel you feel comfortable with, research what other scholars are saying about it, and offer your own theories. Study critical theory a little and choose a paradigm (ex. feminist theory, marxism, queer theory. etc.). I can recommend several works- A Room of One's Own by Virginia Woolf (feminist perspective) or Katherine Philips' Friendship poems (espeically those she wrote to Lucasia)- with this topic, research the definition of platonism, sapphism and determine whether you feel her friendship poems are platonic or homosexual in nature. I highly recommend subscribing to a site that will allow you to review articles written by scholars. It usually costs a little money, but it's well worth it. Just researching on the internet proves fruitless because any "Joe Blow" can post a website or an idea. I hope this helps. I'm an English major and would love to help you with any other questions...
Reply:I'm not sure what kind of parameters you have been given, but the topic that has been closest to my heart lately is Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis. It is considered an "orphan disease" that affects 1 in 200,000 children. Because it is so rare, there is no government funding for research. We don't know the cause of it, but chemotherapy seems to help some children recover. I can get you plenty of internet resources if this sounds like something you want to research. I'll leave you one to start with for now.

I guarantee you no one else will have chosen this topic. It'll be new, and English teachers always appreciate that.

Reply:research legitamate studies that show and support the analysis and reason for quite the opposite: juvenile non-deliquency. present and compare the two positions (it is a given that you also research legitamate studies that show and support the analysis and reasoning of juvenile delinquency). after presentation of both parameters, develop in a presentation your essay ( an essay is your own opinion based on all relative study and fact as a hypothesis). an educated decision.

I need a research topic in educational adminstration for my PhD. SUGGEST me some topics please. Thank you all.

I suggest writing about experimental colleges/universities like The Union Institute. The Union Institute is really weird because your specialization ie English, History, Sociology is based on your dissertation not on your course work. The Union Institute tries to rationalize this by saying its a PhD in Liberal Arts but graduates are selling themselves by the specialty.

Why is this bad?

If a PhD in French doesn't know one word of French he is useless. That's why most universities have a French curriculum and comprehensive examination.

Can anybody suggest a research topic?

Any research topic as long as it is possible to do...really really need one...

Can anybody suggest a research topic?
Well what class is it for? That would help....

If it's just a general science research project then I would opt for doing some research on a current or controversial subject, such as stem cell research which aids diseases such as parkinsons. Or there's the issues on fuel--biofuel/green energy versus oil and fossel feuls. Another hot topic these days is genetic engineering and what genetics will mean for our future society. If you're into physics, you could opt to do research on the String Theory, which is a new theory of unification in our universe that combines Einstein's general relativity with Quantum Mechanics and it's pretty current and also pretty controversial in the physics community. There have also been breakthroughs with cancer research linked to certain antioxidants in vegitables and fruits and also in Green Tea, called polyphenols.

I think current scientific issues would be your best bet. Not only would there be slews of information in online Journal articles, but also things in magazines such as Discover and Newsweek, as well as on television. It might even be easier because you would not only get the scientific aspect of it but also the cultural, social, moral, ethical and economical impacts of these things on our life as we know it today.

Get the same type of alga from a single aquatic source, if you want to keep it simple. Otherwise, choose the same alga from other sources, or try different alga from the same source, and etc.

Make sure to do multiple trials.

Anyway, you can test for algal production in a few ways. Check for oxygen levels in the water before and after. Take dry masses of the algae before and after. I'm sure you can think of more.
Reply:Perhaps you should go to the Mythbusters website %26amp; do a rigorous project on one of the myths that they covered in their shows.

5) How did the early Church evangelize and overthrow the Roman Empire, survive and prosper almost 350 years, without knowing for sure which books belong in the canon of Scripture?

6) Who in the Church had the authority to determine which books belonged in the New Testament canon and to make this decision binding on all Christians? If nobody has this authority, then can I remove or add books to the canon on my own authority?

7) Why do Protestant scholars recognize the early Church councils at Hippo and Carthage as the first instances in which the New Testament canon was officially ratified, but ignore the fact that those same councils ratified the Old Testament canon used by the Catholic Church today but abandoned by Protestants at the Reformation?

8) If the early Church believed in sola Scriptura, why do the creeds of the early Church always say “we believe in the Holy Catholic Church,” and not “we believe in Holy Scripture”?

9) The time interval between the Resurrection and the establishment of the New Testament canon in AD 382 is roughly the same as the interval between the arrival of the Mayflower in America and the present day. Therefore, since the early Christians had no defined New Testament for almost four hundred years, how did they practice sola Scriptura?

10) If Christianity is a “book religion,” how did it flourish during the first 1500 years of Church history when the vast majority of people were illiterate?

I am studying media studies and just beginning the critical research topic!!?

I am struggling to decide on a hypothesis to study. I want to focus on either TV drama, advertising or crime and the media. Can anyone suggest any ideas I can use in one of these topics?

I am studying media studies and just beginning the critical research topic!!?
I am torn between tv drama and advertising.

TV Drama you can use words like "moral panic" "institutional values" "target audience" "representation" "stereotypes"

Advertising you can say how they use techniques to appeal to a speicfic audience. Such as colour, images, animation, content. E.g. if the target audience was children they would use bright colours, simple lexis, big images etc

This is really detailed but I think it's a very good topic. There are 60,000 + people on the kidney transplant list in the US. Many people are waiting over 6 years to get a transplant. Many of the people on dialysis waiting for a transplant are type II diabetics and many of them have done nothing to control their diabetes which led to their kidneys failing. Should these people have the same priority to get a transplant as those people who have taken care of themselves or who have kidney failure because of some problem they were born with?

How about all the ways recycled products are being made? People don't realize HOW many items can be recycled and kept out of landfills, and how many products are being made (clothing, park benches, plastic consumer goods, etc.). A good argument for more extensive recycling as well.

I need help finding a research paper topic?

I'm a high school freshman and has been assigned to do a research paper. I want to find how to become a surgeon but I think it may be to big of a topic. Its supposed to be sort of a I-search paper so I have to ask a question. PLEASE help.

I need help finding a research paper topic?
The best help for you would to get more specific with your topic.

What kind of surgeon? Vascular (heart), Brain, Spinal, Orthopedic, Pediatric, Geriatric???

Then to research it, you should log into a medical school, like

John Hopkins, Harvard, Yale...etc.
Reply:Why is that too big a topic? Narrow it down some. Maybe look at some great surgeons in history, or talk to some in the neighborhood?
Reply:look up surgeon school, look up qualification, training, then look up people in the field that have made contributions, history and present, present your own input on some common procedure, and finish with a home made pipe bomb.

leave the pipe bomb out and your presentation should be good.
Reply:I would suggest to you to go to one or two hospital in your area and speak with the hospital administrator. Explain to him/her about your research paper that you're doing "How to become a Surgeon". That you would like to interview few member of his staff (surgeon) on your topic. This way you can get it first hand on what they went through, face, and other problems a surgeon have to deal with in their field. I hope this help, good luck with your paper. It sound interesting....
Reply:you can do a research paper on the differences between the health care system in the US and government-run health care system in Canada.
Reply:What is it like to go to medical school?
Reply:Narrow it down. How about researching the requirements for medical school?
Reply:magnetism ... it fascinates a lot of people, has unlimited potential in all kinds of fields (like the medical field), and would be relatively easy to research.
Reply:What type of surgeon?... There are so many- for ex. if you reply "heart surgeon"- go to that topic on your computer or at your local library and start studying what the heart is, does, the setup, functions, problems, etc. You have to study the basics and then proceed from there. You can do what I did and each time you look into different aspects of this write a full report. Then place it in a binder and keep adding your reports. After several assignments you will have not only done alot of reports- also a lot of research- a lot of background into something you are truly interested in and you can narrow down what interests you the most!

Good luck and best wishes to you!
Reply:You could do a health related question such as:

"What are some of the risk factors thought to contribute to SIDS?"

or

"What is the difference between Alzheimers disease and Dementia?

or

"Has Fluoride in drinking water helped to decrease tooth decay?"

Hope these suggestions are helpful.
Reply:thats too hard. you should do it on global warming or something easy like pollution. something easy with a lot of information on it

I think how to become a surgeon is a fine topic, you could make it specific regarding the kind of surgeon if you want to (it would probably be a good idea.)

Research paper topics...?

I've been given only a week to write a research paper (about anything) for my English class. I'm limited to only 750-950 words, and it seems like any topic that I consider I will have too much to write about. I need a topic that's easy, simple, and and can be thouroughly written about in 750-950 words.

Help?

Research paper topics...?
Anything can be condensed. Pick anything. If you still can't do that pick a part of the big topic.

I.e. The topic of sports

Shrink that to one sport - say, Baseball

You can then shrink Baseball to one aspect of it or one person - say Babe Ruth

If you really want short stuff:

- do a short Bio of someone

- write a short paper about Yahoo Answers and it's advantages and disadvantages

- write about the history of Halloween

Thanks for your help!!

What topics would interest you in a phone-in radio discussion programme?
personally for me; football debates, politics, relationships (family, friends and partners), presenting answers to dilenmas from the audience with the presenter and the audience contributing. diseases among young people (this would be apt for your range group) that needs raising awareness especially sexual transmitted diseases. perhaps every month, an inspirational speaker who has been successful who offers tips and advice to your audience in terms of career. erm..... social problems such as poverty, robbery, and equalising world inequalities. perhaps someone who comes in once a week to discuss about specialist subjects related to male and female, like cars and fashion. also topics on films, dvds, and tv programmes that are prevalent within your age group such as.... i don't know but i watch Lost. for example. thats all i can think of at the moment

Any good research topics?

Whenever I assign this assignment to my students, I usually have them choose their research topics. I ask them what they are curious about and then help them create a brainstorm to help them with ideas and then eventually an outline to help them organize their essay.

Any good research topics?
For what age? One I've had a great deal of success with is a dream or goal the student has. It could be a career they want to have, a vacation they'd like to take, or just something they'd like to accomplish. For example, one girl wanted to own the biggest house in Malibu one day. We looked up what houses sold for in Malibu and then looked into what's necessary to buy or build a house. We contacted realtors and contractors to figure out how much it would cost, etc. It turned out to be a really interesting paper.

Senior research topic related to psychology?

I want to do my senior research on something related to psychology. can somebody give me something specific ideas of what i should do? It has to be a question.

Senior research topic related to psychology?
With the election cycle in the US, you could examine the correlation between attitudes and votes.

Ask people where they'd rank themselves, from very conservative, somewhat conservative, moderate (in between), somewhat liberal or very liberal, and see how that corresponds to who they would vote for and/or to which party they identify with.

For now, with 2 major players in both parties, it might be more interesting (I assume the most conservative will favor Romney, not as sure who the most liberal favor; also, how many identify as the moderate, and who do they support?
Reply:Psychology covers an awfully big area of study!

Do you have an interest that you could narrow it down? Then I would go to the library and see what books you can get on the topic and narrow it down more to your final thesis question.

ex. dreams, mental disorders, addictions, history of psychology....etc.
Reply:I'm a junior in college, psych major. A really interesting topic that we've been discussing in my classes is the increase of intersexed people (used to be called hermaphrodites) and their gender issues emotionally and physically how to fit in with the rest of society and how to accept oneself....really interesting

Please help chose between these two Psychology research topics?

I'm doing this course I have little interest in. Anyway, I have to develop a research project that I DO NOT have to do the research on...but it will be critiqued and graded. There needs to be dependent and independent variables, one is measured and the other is one that is manipulated. Here are the two I've come up with - with people's help. Can you please tell me: Which one you like better??

What problems I might face with these???

And any advice???

1. Do people recall words/information better if it is concrete (table, chair, monkey) as opposed to abstract (large, fast, busy)?

2. Does taking Omega fatty acids improve memory or not?

Please help chose between these two Psychology research topics?
Just my opinion but ...

The first one is boring. It's been done a million times and the answer is concrete. There may be ways to make it more interesting (e.g., looking at brain scans while people do the task), but I would rank this second.

The second one probably has less existing research on it, so it would be more interesting. It also has more obvious practical importance. (Not that practical importance is everything, but it can make the paper easier to write.) The main problem is narrowing down "memory." Is it short term or long term? Is it declarative (memory for facts) or procedural (memory for skills)?

So I vote for Number 2.
Reply:I like the first one and it would take less long to complete. The Omega fatty acids one is good but it would take years of data to see if it really affects ur memory

Help with a history research topic?

I have a research paper to do and have to turn in a thesis statement tomorrow. The thesis has to be in outline form. The paper is for a class that is about Britain in the Modern Centuries. This is roughly from The Romantics thru WW1, and the paper is to be between 10-12 pages.

Help with a history research topic?
You're looking for a topic? This is a busy period and there should be many topics available. You could do a topic on women, literature, education, jobs, religion, etc. I find it easiest to pick a topic from my class notes, something that the prof has already touched on, and expand from there.

Reply:Here's one ... I'd love to see the final product too, because I've often discussed it with one of our local government teacher.

Look up the "Full faith and credit" clause in the constitution. That essentially says that a contract legally enacted in one state is legal in all states. So, if you get married in New York, you are married in the other 49 states as well.

The issue is, if one state allows gay marriage, then is that couple legally married in all states? Yes or no? (No, I'm not gay, but I found this a most interesting constitutional conundrum.)

P.S. The government teacher and I both agree that this will cause a mess somewhere at some point!
Reply:I'm not sure what you want. Are you talking about how government works or what problems it faces? There are literally thousands of topics, ranging from the difference between the legislative, executive, and judicial branches to how the deficit is calculated, to the role of the Electoral College, to the history of the Vice-Presidents, to the story of the only two Presidents ever to be impeached (Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton). Current problems include the war, the economy, social issues like gay marriage, and the fact that Medicare is going broke. All of these have some government element to them.

Could you suggest some active research topic in Anthropology?

I am applying to grad program and they require a research proposal. Not having majored in anthropology before, I don't know what are active areas of research in social anthropology today

Could you suggest some active research topic in Anthropology?
I would suggest looking at the research areas of some of the faculty members at the universities you are applying to. Most faculty are well aware that research objectives will change over the course of a graduate education, but what is important is that you share some areas of interest with potential faculty advisors.

Once you have an idea of what areas you might write your statement of purpose about, you can check the journal "Annual Review of Anthropology" for review articles on related topics, so that you can quickly get a good idea about what kind of research has already been done in your areas of interest.
Reply:There are countless active areas of research in social anthropology. You need to be focusing on what you are actually interested in, not picking from a list of so-called active areas of research. (That is what makes it worth doing in the first place:)

You should be applying to schools that have faculty members that share your general research interests within the field of social anthropology (for a very broad example, a certain geographic region or a particular religion). Surely it is more narrowed than simply social anthropology in general- in that case you would not be ready for grad school. You are probably being asked to name at least one faculty member you want to work with; hopefully you are selecting them on the basis of your shared interests. If you haven't already, you should be getting in touch with such potential supervisors and discussing possible research ideas.

Think about different questions you might ask regarding your general research interests. Is the research proposal supposed to be the starting ground for developing your thesis or dissertation? I'd suggest looking at previous theses and dissertation topics to see the nature of the research questions people ask in general, some of which you might be able to adapt for your own research interests. Use an academic database if you have access to one to use the key words related to this interest to search for recently published articles. As you read you might find some aspect you're interested in knowing more about, or perhaps find there is some question you have wondered that no one has properly addressed. That is how research topics are born.

Best of luck with your apps! :)

I need a real good research topic for my com 125 class?

We can do the research paper on any topic we choose. I have never writen a research paper, so I don't know what to write about. Some things taht intrest me are that I like reading about true crimes, I like watching shows about crime, court, and Dna. If I would choose any of theese what would I focus on. Please give me some ideas, I have to come up with a topic by tommorrow so I can fill out my research plan.

I need a real good research topic for my com 125 class?
Well, I don't know what com 125 stand for, but if you're interested in true crime there's a lot you can do a research paper on.

1) You could do a research paper on the history of using DNA evidence in court. When was it first used in a trial? How many trials today depend on DNA evidence? What are the pros and cons of using DNA evidence? What is the science behind DNA evidence? How exactly does a hair or a skin sample get processed for DNA?

2) Celebrity justice. Do celebrities and the wealthy receive lighter sentences or less convictions than regular people? What about regular people who become celebrities from their trials, like the Menendez brothers or Scott Petersen? Look at the history of celebrities going to trial and see if there's been a change over the past century or so.

3) How about something on solving crimes from the past, like "Cold Case." How do people solve murder investigations from 100 years ago?

4) Forensic anthropology. It's a fascinating field. I think the character on "Bones" is basic on someone who is a forensic anthropologist.
Reply:write about the anna nicole circus. it's got it all. DNA, Drugs. Death.

People may not know it, but many Sharks are an endangered species. They are often killed by shark nets that are suppossed to divide swimmers and sharks. They are also hunted by man out of fear, when the reality is that you have a better chance of being hit by lightning than being bit by a shark.

They hibernate in clusters of 300-400 per square foot. In cold air trap caves. That should be a good start.

Reply:I will have to say my favorite, Whooping Cranes. There are only a little over 500 alive anywhere in the world. They went down to approx 17 birds TOTAL in the world back in the 1930's and all birds today are related to those 17. They are what you call a bottleneck species. Scientists have to be very careful with interbreeding them and getting the most genetic diversity they can.

Also, they are one of the best re-introduction efforts yet attempted. There is a human created non-migratory flock in Fla. A human created migratory flock (operation migration) and a rather large captive breeding population that feeds the two human created populations.

Information can be obtained from www.savingcranes.org and www.operationmigration.org

Good and Discussable Science Research Topics for an Anatomy/Physiology Class? HELP!!!!!?

In A %26amp; P (anatomy and physiology) our teacher wants us to give a presentation on anything interesting that is going on in the science/medical field around us ( e.g; human genome project, organ printing etc.) We can't do anything that has been done before but it has to be somewhat related to science/ biology. We have had projects done on many things, but i want something interesting as well as something that maybe will raise a few eyebrows. Our teacher is an easy grader so its not like i am worried about my grade in the class, but he does ask a lot of questions and because the last presentation I did i hated (sports medicine) i was really bored with. If anyone here has any ideas whatsoever that may be of help to me and my dilemma, I would greatly appreciate it. Note: we can research diseases but they can be boring.

How about the renaming of "Chronic Fatigue Syndrome" so it doesn't sound like something that's all in your head? I understand the chore was undertaken in 1999 or so, and they've only just come to a decision.
Reply:frozen embryo's that a divorcing couple are fighting over was a big interest for my students. There are court cases you could look at and child support ordered to take care of frozen eggs....that has scientific and social consequences.

This assignment is a report on something that interests you ... and you're out of ideas?

Why not do a report on boredom? Or laziness?
Reply:why don't you make a case for (or against) online homework help sites?
Reply:For what class and is there a writing-style genre requirement?

5/13 You've added more info. If it is a persuassive paper, then why not something like school uniforms? Talk to somebody and their parents who attend a private (or public) school where uniforms are worn to find out the pros and cons, pick a side to support and then write your essay. It doesn't even really matter if you agree with the side you choose ... you are simply practicing your writing skills. It isn't so hard ... 5 paragraphs: intro., 3 support paragraphs with 2 examples for each and a closing (conclusion). You can do it! :-) If you don't like that topic, pick another controversial issue ... there are many to choose from.

Don't let the fact that you can't find a topic you are really interested in delay writing the paper on time. JUST DO IT.
Reply:I did one in high school, this was over 15 years ago mind you, the topic was for a botany class. Creating a Nuclear winter to combat the effects of Global Warming. The original article was from an Omni magazine published in 1992.

Another topic, say for government, could be a speculation on what the would would be like if the Kennedy brothers hadn't been assassinated.
Reply:You could do the Da Vinci code, Constantine... I think stuff to do with the Bible is interesting.. with all those mysteries.

Then you could write about someone.. like Hitler, Al Capone, Abe Lincoln.... anyone.

I did Evolution Vs. Creationism.. and that was a pretty cool paper, I actually enjoyed writing it.
Reply:Depends on the class.

Why not read the news and do a topic on something controversial.

I.E. Global Warming Fact or Fiction, The War in Iraq, Kidnappings etc.

Does anyone know any contraversy or problem for a research topic on correctional officers?

if nobody knows anything i would be fine with just about any research topic title or anything

Does anyone know any contraversy or problem for a research topic on correctional officers?
My husband's parents are both correctional officers at a super maximum security prison. I know that one of the toughest aspects of the job to deal with is working closely with rapists, mass murders and child molesters every day. It is hard for them to not take the job home mentally.

I hope that helps! :)
Reply:I thnk a good topic would be correctional officers having sex with the inmates and abusng their power.Or officers refusing to give prisoners medical treatment at the appropriate time ex pregnant prisoner bleeding to death but officer thought she was faking to get out of cell.
Reply:Wow that is a tough subject. I hope I don't have to do that one. I'm a criminal justice student and a former DOC employee. When I was working there, we never had any controversies but I do remember a story out of Seattle WA about a senators son who was incarcerated and was let out early. His corrections officers knew he was up to no good, but when they went to his home they were told they could not go in by his mother (the senator) I never knew what happened after that because I moved to another state and didn't get to hear the end of the story but you can find the info in the local Seattle news paper around the date of November or December of 2006. I hope I was able to give you an idea to work with. Good luck.

What is a good research topic to write about ?

It must have enough ideas for approximately 8 pages !

What is a good research topic to write about ?
It's hard to say exactly because I don't know the limitations other than 8 pages, but writing is always better if it's about something you care about. It makes it sound better and teachers can tell if you wrote something only to get an assignment done or if you wrote it because you actually care.

It may help to think about some rule or law you don't like and write about it. Or maybe research some activity you enjoy--the history, who does it, when, why, etc. Good luck.
Reply:How is fighting in iraq causing oil defficiency in america?
Reply:The revolutionary war. very good. my research paper on that was 12 pages long. yikes

What are the possible interesting topics for high school research paper?

Check out http://www.ClassTopic.com They have some great topics that I've used in the past. Each topic has three good sources to get you started on the research, too.

What are the possible interesting topics for high school research paper?

How the anti static dryer sheet was created

Grub Worms. More than a meal.

200 years of Dirigibles.

The Adventurous life of the leaf cutter.

The History of vinegar

Changes in British dental habits throughout the ages

The Creation of Mucilage
Reply:I did a reseach paper on transvestites. You can find a lot of information on this topic and the cool thing is that it's not a very known topic. I also did a research paper on abortion. the types..the harms..etc..
Reply:As a former history teacher, let me suggest two that are very interesting topics and information is readily available. (1) the California Gold Rush and (2) Transportation improvements in the 19th century--but you have to narrow this down to a more limited period of time.

What would make a good research topic for a college research paper?

From my own experiences I've noticed that many college students don't understand what their professor expects in a research paper. Many students simply think that a research paper is a report--taking a bunch of information and putting it on paper. Instead, a research paper should prove something to your professor. I did my first research paper about how Alexander Hamilton was very instrumental (perhaps the most instrumental) in establishing the Constitution. Since many people normally think of James Madison as the most important person, it was my job to prove to them that Hamilton was equally important.

You don't want to write one about something that everybody knows (common knowledge), nor do you want to write something that does not prove a point (your thesis). There are many possibilities to write your paper on. Here are a few:

1) Argue for or against electronic books (taking books in the traditional paper form and putting them on a computer).

2) Argue for or against possible life on other planets.

3) Explain why the "No Child Left Behind" program is necessary or why it needs to be changed or removed.

Just remember, if you have a statement that you're trying to prove to your reader, use good sources and put actual facts into the argument to prove your point. Don't back up your opinion with more opinions. Good luck!

What would make a good research topic for a college research paper?
it depends on your field and what the prof. asked and how long it should be and how it is written.

what field are you going into and take it from their.
Reply:When I was in college, I used Bonnie %26amp; Clyde as my research topic for term papers in Composition, Technical Report Writing, and Public Speaking - as well as for Criminal Justice and Corrections classes.

Their story is infinitely fascinating, and no matter how deep you delve into it, you can never know it ALL! It NEVER gets boring, and the subject may be approached from many levels.
Reply:Mold, I have not seen so much of it lately from the weather find out how it grows and what it eats
Reply:The Reconquest of Spain.
Reply:Well I am doing the death penalty right now and I am not that into it. I found that there is not very much interesting stuff about it. My advice is to find something that interests you. So it will be easier to research.
Reply:It depends on what you like. If you're into science then look at the mars rovers. If you're into history the the Great Siege of Malta would be great. So it all depends on what you like.
Reply:whatever you pick, make it somthing you are really intersted it. i could be something like the Romaov Dyasty, or great MGM movies, but it has to be somthing you are willing to do a lot of reserach on. Personally i would choose how flim as affected us through the years.
Reply:It depends on what the class is......if its history, something historical that interests you and so on.

♥research paper over the Civil War... What topics should i put in it?♥?

Do your Civil War paper on The Sanitary Commission. This was organized by civilians, predominately women, who recognized that the needs of soldiers recovering from disease and injury were not being met by the army's medical system and that camp infrastructure needed to be changed to insure healthier living conditions.

I think you will find allot of info and will enjoy the research.

Those which you consider to be most significant.

Add Andersonville to your list of POW Camps. The Commandant, Wurtz, was the ONLY man tried and hanged for War Crimes after the War.
Reply:Why don't you go to the library and look up "Civil War Medicine" and do a paper on that? Or you can google it on the 'net. Lots of fascinating stuff there nobody else in your class will think of. For instance, have you ever heard the term "bite the bullet"? It never, ever happened! Did you know that out of over 622,000 who died as a result of the war, only a third died of wounds - that the most casualties were due to disease, most commonly diarrhea? Why d'you suppose that was? Can you name the only woman ever to win the Medal of Honor? (Doctor Mary Edwards Walker of Oswego, New York)

What was meant by "Laudable pus"? Why didn't men who had infections get antibiotics? What did Stonewall Jackson really die from?
