Interesting topics to research?

we have to do a research paper for school, and we can choose any topic we want - except anything related to people.





i can't think of anything. try as i might, i cannot think of any subject that would be interesting to research and to present.





i don't want to do something that someone has already done in the previous years, so if anyone is an expect, or at least know some things, on a particular subject that you find very interesting, please answer this question.





i'm not doing sports, and i'd rather stay away from diseases like down syndrome, std, hemophilia, etc. as everyone has already done them before. i want an original topic, but something interesting and easy to find information on.
