What should I do? Shoulod I pray about this first? Should I research the topics that we want to discuss?

My friend and I are trying to plan a Christian Teen Night at our church by the end of this year. We plan on talking about different subjects on how the devil is taking over our young generation through sex, music, alcohol, televison shows, drugs etc. We want teenagers to know that we are the future and to give their lives up to God and not to be a slave of the devil. The purpose of this is to reach out to teenagers who are lost and are in sin and to get them to give their hearts to God. Any suggestions???

What should I do? Shoulod I pray about this first? Should I research the topics that we want to discuss?
You could discuss the reality of the christian Satan devil mythology.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

Reply:Submit fully unto our god and he will guide you. Do not think or worry so much, it is your father through you and not you through our father which will make this idea a success. pray and ask for the strength and the guidance, he already gave you the idea that is why it is in your heart now apply it. Do not worry of how it will work you are a vessel, god will direct and god will setup all that is needed to put this program together. Pray and read constantly and do not falter, draw unto him and he will draw unto you, souls will be saved not by your words or power but by the words and conviction of the holy spirit. If this is your desire than you have greater responsibility, a leader is the least of all for to god he is a complete vessel, nothing is done by his own understanding or power. And it is your greatest responsibility to remain always in this spirit of god and to speak his words and not your own, it is difficult and it hurts for you are dead but only alive through our lord and savior Jesus Christ. Seek his face as David did, seek wisdom and love it as though it were gold, disdain all that is worldly and cling unto our god. Seek not your own gain or profit but only that souls may be saved by our Fathers grace, stay humble at all times, do not love one and not another, love all equally and always know they are not yours but our fathers.
Reply:First of all I want to say you are doing an awesome thing! :-) If you are looking for ways to draw teens, or even how exactly approach issues, go to God first. He will tell you in your heart what will be the most effective. I'm sure it will all work out great!
Reply:You can toss the life preserver, but don't imagine that they all put them on. Everyone has their path and even though it would be a blessing for all to see the most lost to be found, it's rare to see it happen that way.

I think it would be better to illuminate the peaceful side of things as opposed to gearing up a hell-fire and brimstone talk. Focus on the positives of leading a Godly life as opposed to the negatives of the dark side.
Reply:I'm a teen. I gave my life totally to Christ about 2 weeks ago. And I can say without a shadow of a doubt, that it was the example of my high school teacher and his wife that brought me to Jesus. A Christian witness is more powerful than you will ever know.

I've been preached at all my life. I've had people tell me I'm going to hell because I'm not good enough. But it was only through the love and patience of my teacher that I was able to see God for who He really is - a loving, forgiving, FRIEND that can help me overcome all my sins.
