How do you do a Proposal on a topic for a research paper?

Im going to have to do a 5 page research paper. But first my we have to do a 300 word proposal on the topic. I am doing: ''Is television 'bad' for children or is it a formidable learning tool?''

I dont understand what a proposal is supposed to be like and what info I should include. Do I need a bibliography for this?

Reply:First, yes you should include a bibliography. Um, proposal is basicly what would you do? You have to formulate a claim about your topic. Like, if television is "bad" for children, what would you do? or if its a formidable learning tool, what would you do? You should know about the proposal youre making, what reasons you caould offer to support your proposal. and what evidence do you have that implementing your proposal will lead to the results you want. The main characteristics of proposals are that they call for action or response, often in response to a problem, they focus on the future, and they center on the audience......good luck, research papers suck
Reply:I am actually in the midst of doing a research paper on Deforestation! Anyway, what mine said was my working thesis, central question, target audience, intended sources, and then I evaluated which sources would help me the most, who I could ask for help, etc. Just make it really wordy. I had this worksheet to help me, but I hope I helped...
